The Hobo taunts him saying you don't want to be duped, bamboozled, taken for a fool. Boy - Protagonist / Lost his Faith / Thorns - The central character is doubting the reality of Santa.
In fact, he will won't even sit with the other kids once on the train and enjoy the ride because he thinks his rocks make him less important. Christmas or faith just doesn't work out for him after many disappointing experiences. He has no hope due to all of the rocks in his life and the word cannot get into his heart.

During the trip, characters on each car lead passengers in caroling and onboard entertainment just like in the film! Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh bell in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip. Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. Passengers then read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Once on board, your car hosts will work their way through the coach and punch your golden ticket before hot chocolate and delicious Walkers Shortbread are served by dancing chefs.
